Can one learn to be an entrepreneur, or is it a quality a person is born with? If a person with inborn entrepreneurial qualities gets an edge, Mr. Apresh Garg has that advantage to him. Entrepreneurship is in his blood as he belongs to a north Indian business family. Before venturing into entrepreneurial career, he spent eight valuable years in his family business that has been continuing for more than five decades.

Before kicking off his dream project, ‘Agson Global’ in 1997, Mr Garg knew quite well how to transform his idea into a successful venture. With full confidence in his abilities and entrepreneurial acumen, he led his organization with flawless ease. The past experiences helped him to break the glass ceilings and took path breaking decisions that brought several fruitful results for the company. As an inspiring leader, his risk-taking attitudes helped him to expand this business to other domains as well.

Aged 46, Mr Garg has been known as a man of many solutions, a man who can accomplish a goal with admirable ease. Apart from being at the helm of Agson Global, he has been contributing as an active member of various industry bodies and forums. He is President of Association of Agro Importers of India and Member of USIBC (US-India Business Council, Washington, D.C.). He has been an active member of US-India Business Council and is also leading Wholesale Traders Association of India.

Despite being a globetrotter and having busy schedule, Mr. Garg spares to spend time for his philanthropic activities. He finds comfort in various charity works. He has also been a constant source of support to various social organizations.

Dear Members,

I am pleased to share with you the accomplishments that your company made in the highly satisfying year gone by. The year FY 15 went on to get recorded as a landmark year in the history of our company.

Besides witnessing Company revenues crossing Rs.2000 crore mark, the year also marked the stabilization of our Menthol Business, implementation of Logistics Park and commencement of new business namely Garment Exports. Our Menthol business obtained necessary global certifications including such as ISO 22000, GMP, HACCP, KLBD, FDA, FSSAI and Drug License, paving way for increased exports to many countries and user segments.

The Company achieved marked improvement in operational efficiency across business divisions and corporate functions. Consequently, we improved our profitability, balance sheet strengths and both leveraging and liquidity ratios.

As we move into the year FY 16 with four functional businesses, the focus would remain on stabilizing & growing the existing business mainly towards cost and production efficiency. Our efforts to entrench deeper in existing export destinations and penetrate in more countries would intensify.

In the logistics division, our effort would be centered around leasing out the total leasable area of 500,000 Sq.ft. to tenants of repute and sound financial standing and also to achieve favourable realisations. The sheer nature of annuity revenues coupled with faster lease out shall improve our overall operating margins besides bringing in assured long-term revenue visibility.

To further expand our revenue streams, the Company is contemplating small investments into Solar Power Generation for captive consumption with ready surfaces in our Menthol and Logistics units, the value proposition of green power towards captive consumption appears promising.

In a span of 18 years, we have built strong leadership in almond business. We have fast accomplished necessary diversifications which has also strengthened our balance sheet with incidental assets in land, factory and warehouse. With major CAPEX cycle behind us, all our new assets have entered their pay-off phase. Our focus would remain to consolidate gains towards optimized revenues, cash flows and profits.

I take this opportunity to acknowledge the stellar contributions that our management team and our staff have made in making AGPL reach a position of significant strength. I would like to put on record sincere appreciation to our suppliers and buyers and thank our lenders and investors without whose belief the accelerated scale-up and diversification would not have been realized.

If Agson Global came into existence because of its Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Apresh Garg, its diversification drive was led by its Director, Mrs Monika Garg. Her pioneering efforts resulted in the opening of two different business domains: Logistics and Garment. She played a key role in the conceptualization and the accomplishment of these two divisions. Entire design and latest concept of new ventures were planned and put in place by her.

For a hassle-free day-to-day business operation, she chalked out a full proof mechanism that is assisting the entire Agson Global group to keep on progressing consistently from one stage to another.

From Agson Global’s evolution to diversification stage, her role appears quite crucial at every stage and she still promises to nurture this company from her sheer commitment, understanding and hard work.

Under her active support, Agson Global, could expand its business successfully and its revenue increased multifold.

Mrs. Garg has led company's diversification into Logistics & Garment business and plays a key role in its design and quality functions. She is also responsible for day-to-day administration of the Company.

Chartered Accountant, dedicated professional with over 27 years of experience in various FMCG and Menthol manufacturing industries and experience in the various segments of the business such as accounts, finance, purchase, legal compliance, tax planning, business expansion, marketing and customer relationship, achieved the desired financial and other goal for the Company and worked with P&G in its Menthol Division.
